This is a very unusual item.

you as it is a Japanese size meant to be
used with a futon.
This company YAMASEI in Japan makes all natural cotton allergy proof bedding.
Their products are top of the line and expensive. I was allergic to the
high count of dust mites in Japan due to the high humidity there. So all
of our family bedding was from this company. Now for how it protects you.
Well the weave of this silk like cotton is so tight and fine that dust mites
cannot get inside. They can live on the surface but once washed are gone.
They
can not burrow inside the bedding so no residue is left behind.
If you have extreme allergies you could put this in the dryer at any time just
to kill any dust mites that may be on the surface. I do not recommend dryer
sheets as they will leave a residue on this silky soft cotton. This is meant to
be used for the hot summer months in place of a top sheet and blanket. It is
several layers of sheet material sewn together. I am pretty sure I have some
new sealed Japanese size pillow cases from this same company and same pattern
which are small. I may have a few other
items as well.
I do have lightly used items from this company I may be willing to part with.
I
do have a child size blanket like this that is lightly used. It could be used
in a crib or a small child's bed. Feel free to contact me with any questions.
